Summary	Dr Gordon Chang talks about his recent book, Fateful Ties, and shows how in the last 350 years, Americans have always had a fascination with China, through literature, art, popular culture and politics. In his talk, Dr. Chang illustrates this point with current cultural events and business links such as the Metropolitan Museum ‘s Gala “China Through the Looking Glass”, where celebrities wear gowns that are China inspired and Apple’s most popular flagship store in Shanghai. Apple projects 30 % of its revenues will come from China and Warren Buffett has invested billions in China. Question, do Chinese have same pre-occupation with America?
