Summary	In this presentation, Tobias Smith discusses the similarities between China’s legal system and the US’s as well as the Chinese laws that appear to be strikingly different from those of other countries. In the first half, Smith discusses the creation of China’s current legal system. He then contrasts this with China’s crackdown on dissent and goes on to discuss how the different aspects of the Chinese legal system can coexist.
